Initial Legal Support Consultation

Not Sure What Legal Support You Need?

Sometimes you know there is a problem, but you are not sure what type of help you need, what your next step should be, or whether the matter is something you can deal with yourself.

Our Initial Legal Support Consultation gives you an opportunity to explain your situation and receive practical guidance on the options available.

£25 for up to 20 minutes

Payable when booking

During the consultation, we can listen to the circumstances of your matter, help identify the issues involved and explain possible practical next steps.

Where appropriate, we can also explain:

  • whether Tony Legal Support may be able to assist further;
  • whether you may be able to deal with the matter yourself;
  • whether further documents or information may be required; or
  • whether the matter should be referred to a solicitor, barrister or another regulated specialist.

What Kind of Matters Can I Discuss?

The consultation may be suitable where you have received a letter or document you do not understand, have become involved in a dispute, or simply do not know where to begin.

Examples may include:

  • neighbour or boundary disputes;
  • parking or private parking correspondence;
  • family or property disagreements;
  • letters, notices or documents you have received;
  • disputes requiring correspondence;
  • estate or probate-related questions;
  • general legal paperwork;
  • questions about possible next steps; and
  • other matters where you are unsure what type of assistance you require.

Every matter is different. Booking a consultation does not guarantee that Tony Legal Support will be able to undertake further work on your behalf.

What Does the £25 Include?

The fee covers an initial consultation of up to 20 minutes.

The consultation itself is the service you are purchasing. The fee therefore remains payable where, after considering the circumstances, we advise that:

  • no further assistance from us is required;
  • you may be able to deal with the matter yourself; or
  • you should obtain assistance from a solicitor or another specialist.

Any additional work requested after the consultation will be quoted separately before work begins.

 £25 Credit Towards Further Bespoke Work

If the matter discussed during your consultation leads to bespoke work with an agreed fee of £150 or more, and you instruct Tony Legal Support to undertake that work, the £25 consultation fee may be credited against the agreed fee.

For example:

Further work agreed at £250
Less consultation credit: £25
Balance for further work: £225

The consultation credit does not apply to:

  • work costing less than £150;
  • standalone letters or smaller document work;
  • Will Writing;
  • Lasting Powers of Attorney;
  • other standard fixed-fee services where the service required is already clear; or
  • third-party charges, court fees, postage, delivery or other expenses.

The £25 is credited, rather than refunded, where the qualifying conditions above apply.

Straightforward Services Do Not Require a Consultation

If you already know that you require one of our standard services, you normally do not need to book a £25 consultation first.

For example, if you require:

  • a Will;
  • a Lasting Power of Attorney;
  • Probate or Estate Administration; or
  • another clearly defined service shown on our website,

please contact us about that service directly and we can explain the applicable fee and process.

The Initial Legal Support Consultation is primarily intended for people who are not sure what help they require or what their next step should be.

Letters and Further Document Work

If, following your consultation, you ask us to prepare a letter or other document, this will be treated as separate work and the price will be confirmed before we proceed.

Where a completed letter is emailed or provided to you for you to send yourself, there is normally no delivery charge.

If you ask Tony Legal Support to send documents on your behalf, additional postage, tracked delivery, Signed For, Special Delivery or courier charges may apply.

Any applicable delivery charge will be explained before the document is sent.
